Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing ( HKEx ) is the holding company of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. HKEx is listed on the stock index Hang Seng Index. The company was founded on 6 March 2000.

Takeover of the London Metal Exchange

On 15 June 2012, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing announced the acquisition of the LME for the equivalent of around 1.7 billion euros. The acquisition is expected to close before year end.
