Hong Kong Football Association

The Hong Kong Football Association ( HKFA ) is the association for football clubs in Hong Kong. It was founded in 1914 and is considered one of the oldest in Asia. In 1954 the Association at as one of twelve founding members of the Asian Football Confederation. In the same year, the Association also joined FIFA. Although Hong Kong now politically part of China, the city has its own football association, as well as its own football team.

In 1956 the HKFA from the first Asian Cup. The Football Men occupied while the third place. This is the biggest success the men's soccer team was able to win in an international tournament to date.

Hong Kong Cup

The football championship in Hong Kong is the most important national title. The master of men is played since 1908. First title holder was a club called buffs. Record champion and current title holder is the Association of the South China Athletic Association. Currently 13 teams taking part in the first league. There are three seniors leagues for men in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield

The Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield Cup is the oldest cup competition in Hong Kong and probably Asia. He is already hosted since 1896. The competition is organized annually by the HKFA and after winning the championship of the most important titles in the national club football. The winner is determined according to the knockout system. Usually only the first division clubs take part in it, plus the winner of the Junior Shield. The South China AA record holder here. Previously, the club was able to win 20 titles.

Federation Cup

The Federation Cup, or even Hong Kong FA Cup, is the second most important cup competition for the Senior Challenge Shield. Under its current name of the competition was first held in 1975. Before that, he was known as Golden Jubilee Cup. By 1981, participated in the Cup and clubs in the second and third league. Record holder is also the South China AA with a total of nine titles.

Hong Kong League Cup

The League Cup has been held since 2000. It attended by all clubs in the first division. The game is played out in two groups. Each team meets once against the other. Junior Shield

The Junior Shield is a cup competition for the youth teams in Hong Kong.

Chairman's Cup

The Chairman's Cup was launched in 1975. Since 1980, only carry only reserve teams from clubs in the first division of this tournament.
