Hong Kong Museum of History

The Hong Kong Museum of History (香港 历史博物馆Xiānggǎng Lìshǐ Bówùguǎn ) is a museum in Hong Kong, which deals with the history of the city. It was created in July 1975 and moved into a new building in 1998 Kowlooner district Tsim Sha Tsui ( Yau Tsim Mong District ). This building cost 390 million Hong Kong dollars and was designed by P & T Architects and Engineers on the basis of the architectural concept of E. Verner Johnson. With the building of the Hong Kong Science Museum it forms a common complex.

The collections on two levels include the areas of natural history, archeology, ethnography and local history. The museum is operated by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong government.
