Hong Myung -bo (2008)

Hong Myung -bo ( born February 12, 1969 in Seoul ) is a former South Korean football player.

His greatest sporting achievement was reaching the fourth place in the Football World Cup 2002 in Japan and South Korea. Hong himself was captain of the South Korean team and was awarded after the tournament with the bronze ball for the third best player of the tournament. After the tournament, he retired from the national team until today he is with 135 international matches most capped player in his country.

He also took part in the FIFA World Cup in 1990, 1994 and 1998 and achieved in 1994 against Germany and Spain ever a goal.

His active career as a player, he finished 2004. 2004 Hong Pele in the list of the 125 greatest living footballers (FIFA 100) was recorded.

In 2012, he led the Olympic team to the first bronze medal for South Korean football player at the Olympics. Since June 2013 he is coach of South Korea's national soccer team.
