The honorary title of Honored military pilot of the Russian Federation (Russian Заслуженный военный лётчик Российской Федерации ) is one of three state military awards that build on historical traditions of Russian forces and carry them further. The associated Honour was donated in the form of a medal on ribbon according to Legislative Decree of the Russian Federation of 30 March 1992 and is awarded by the President of the Russian Federation. The Erstverleihung on 16 August 1992.

Award conditions

The honorary title is awarded for outstanding contributions to the advancement of aviation technology, for excellent results in the field of education and training of flight personnel at the same time many years of flying experience in military aviation without self-inflicted accident.

Stylish look and manner

The existing non-ferrous metal silver plated medal was the honorary sign " Honored military pilot of the USSR" modeled after the shape of a scalene octagon (27 x 23 mm). The obverse shows a gilded rising to the left fighter which extends both of her hull seats as well as the tail fin on the edge of the coin. ( En: Russia ) in the center below the aircraft the lettering РОССИЯ should be seen against a right-wing branch of laurel. It is supported medal - like all state awards - at the right chest of the uniform jacket. The medal hangs from a silver rectangular clasp that white with fabric ribbon in the national colors / is blue / red based. An interim Clasp buckle Medal was not awarded.
