Hook Head

Hook Head (Irish Rinn Duain ) is the name of the eastern shore of Waterford Harbour in County Wexford, Republic of Ireland, lying peninsula and located at the head of the lighthouse. In good weather you can see from the lighthouse which is located on the opposite side of the entrance to Waterford Harbour fishing village of Dunmore East. The peninsula is due to its many small and larger beaches also a popular destination. From the town of Waterford in the west of the lighthouse on the ferry at Passage East can be reached.

The lighthouse was built on a branch originally founded by monks in the 13th century and is one of the oldest in Europe and the oldest in Ireland. The lighthouse tip was placed on the 1810 up to three meters thick base masonry. Today, the lighthouse can be visited.
