Hoquiam ( hoʊkwiəm ) is a city in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States. In 2000, the city had 9097 inhabitants.

History

Hoquiam was officially registered on 21 May 1890. The name of the village is derived from the language of the local indigenous people and means " hungry for wood ". The city limits of Aberdeen is the Myrtle Street. Both cities share a common economic history, although Hoquiam has always endeavored to independence from its larger neighbor.
