Horace Grant

Horace Junior Grant ( born July 4, 1965 in Augusta, Georgia, United States ) is a former American professional basketball player for the Chicago Bulls, Orlando Magic, Seattle Supersonics and Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. The 2.08 meter tall Grant played the positions of the power forward and center, and later won with the Bulls three times ( 1991-1993) and with the Lakers once ( 2001) the NBA championship.

Career

Grant was pulled by the Bulls in the NBA Draft in 1987 at 10th place. He was replacement of power forward Charles Oakley and came per game on a good 22 minutes of the game. After Oakley was wegtransferiert next year for center Bill Cartwright, Grant became the starting power forward and was consistently good for 12 points and 8 rebounds per game. He won four NBA Championships and was praised for his hard work as a defense " General Grant ." Total Grant was four times elected to the " All-Defensive team," the best defensive player.

1994 Grant was transferred to the Orlando Magic of center -Star Shaquille O'Neal. As a power forward at the O'Neal's side once he reached the NBA Finals, but could not prevent the 0-4 debacle against the Houston Rockets. The Magic transferred him in 1999 to the Seattle SuperSonics before he changed it one year at the Los Angeles Lakers and again Sekundant of O'Neal was. With LA Grant won his fourth championship title before he went for two years back to Orlando. In 2003 he joined after an unsuccessful second year in Orlando, once again to the Lakers and ended 2004 at the age of 39 years of his career.

Grant was known throughout his career for his large wraparound perspex glasses.

Private life

Horace Grant is the twin brother of Harvey Grant, also played in the NBA.
