Horace Walker

Horace Walker ( * 1838, † 1908) was an English mountaineer who, with the Swiss mountain guide Melchior Anderegg, Johann Jaun and Julien Grange on 30 June 1868, named after him, Pointe Walker ( 4208 m ), the highest summit of the Grandes Jorasses climbed on the southwest flank. Together with his sister Lucy, his father Frank and Melchior Anderegg and Jacob to him the first ascent of Balmhorns ( 3698 m) was already succeeded on 21 July 1864. Like his father, Horace Walker, a prominent member of the London Alpine Club, whose president he was then 1891-1893.
