Horbach, Bad Kreuznach

Horbach is a municipality in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kirn -Land. Horbach is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

The village is located in the southern Hunsrück 340 meters on the western Soon precursor above the ladle stream and the local community Simmertal.

History

Horbach is the second smallest municipality in the district of Bad Kreuznach. It is - apart from through traffic - opposite Castle Dhaun on the other side of the Kellenbachtals and has maintained that few communities in the municipality Kirn -Land their agrarian embossed townscape of earlier times. The place name is handed down in 1541 as " Horbruch ", which means " marshy land " means. Originally formed Horbach, brewing Weiler, Martin Stein and simmering under Dhaun a Markgenossenschaft. The whole developed and undeveloped land and the forest area formed a single unit. In the 18th century, the lordship passed to the Margrave of Baden, who did manage dominion Martin Stein from a resident on the Naumburg bailiff. In Horbach and Martin Stein ever there was one mayor.

In the wake of the French administrative and territorial reforms Horbach came around 1800 to Mairie Monzingen. In the later mayor or the Office Monzingen the village remained until its inclusion in the municipality Kirn -Land in 1970.

Parish council

The local council in Horbach consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: "shield divided by a turned wandered, humiliated, blue top, in a silver stake. In front a blue reinforced and gezungter red lion in gold, silver rear five ( 2:1:2 ) balls in Black ".

The front shield part refers to the former belonging to the game and Rhine County. The rear shield part refers to the coat of arms of the lords of SICKINGEN. The lower -curved peak refers to the arms of the von der Leyen. The coat of arms is designed for an old landmark that still stands today in the district Horbach.

The council commissioned on 6 April 1976 Graphic chest, Kirn Sulzbach, to develop a design for a coat of arms. The crest design in its current form approved by Council at the meeting on 13 August 1978. Upon approval by the State Archives of the Ministry of the Interior in Mainz issued on February 7, 1979, the authorization to run their own coat of arms.

Culture and sights

Annually takes place on Ascension Day the Horbacher notch place ( a carnival ). It is organized by the Horbacher glee club.
