Horia Demian

Horia Demian ( * 1942, † 1989) was a Romanian basketball player who for U Cluj ( Cluj StiinTa 1951-1965, nowadays CS Universitatea Cluj -Napoca ) played from 1960 to 1970.

Career

Demian played 165 times for the Romanian national basketball team and got the award in 1964 for his achievements Maestru al Sportului by the Romanian Basketball Federation awarded. He participated in four European Basketball Championships 1961-1967. His best finish was doing a 5th place in his last participation.

As a reminder and as a homage to the Horia Demian Sports Hall was named in Cluj-Napoca after him. In the hall the home games of handball and basketball teams of CS Universitatea Cluj -Napoca take place.
