Hormizd III.

Hormizd III. (English Hormozd III, † 459 ) was a late ancient Persian Great King. He reigned 457-459 the Sassanid Empire.

Hormizd II was the eldest son Yazdegerds He followed this by initially on the throne. Soon after the death Yazdegerds, however, raised its second- eldest son Peroz. In most oriental sources Peroz is described as the throne more worthy candidate, but is this maybe just the view of the eventual champion again. Due to the difficult source situation is little certain can be said. Peroz finally able to defeat Hormizd and executed him with some other people at ease.
