The integrated municipality is made up of its member communities Agathenburg, Bliedersdorf, Dollern, Horne Castle and Nottensdorf.

History

The Samtgemeinde Horne castle was formed as part of the Lower Saxon and administrative reform in the early 1970s. The inaugural session of the first Samtgemeinde Council took place on 25 January 1971. The first Samtgemeinde director Frank Heinrich in 1971 unanimously voted for an initial 12 years to the administrative chief. After his re-election in 1983, he held the position until 1995. He was succeeded by Iris Gronert, the Office held until the first choice of a full-time mayor in the integrated municipality.

After the duality, ie the separation between all official community director was as chief administrator and honorary mayor, abolished as a representative head of the community in Lower Saxony, was elected in October 2000 Hilke Harms as the first single-track Samtgemeinde Mayor. They ran to the local election in 2006 not for a second term, but moved to the private sector. In the local elections in 2006 were Gerhard Froelian (SPD ), Cosimo Palomba (CDU ) and Hans -Wilhelm Glüsen at (CDU ). In the first round at 10:09 Froelian won 35.4 % of the vote, Palomba could unite to 42.9% and Glüsen reached 21.7%. This required a runoff between Froelian and Palomba required. This was carried out on 24 September 2006. Both candidates reached 50 % of the vote. In absolute votes Froelian 1936 and Palomba won 1934 votes. Thus Gerhard Froelian is the second full-time mayor of the velvet municipality Horne castle.

Blazon: The coat of arms of the velvet municipality shows a golden shield, beneath a blue wave rafters an open castle gate with five pointed roofed battlement towers, of which the average is higher.
