Horokhiv

Horochiw (Ukrainian Горохів; Russian Горохов / Gorokhov, Polish Horochów ) is a Ukrainian city with just over 6500 inhabitants.

Location

Horochiw located in the Volyn oblast. The town lies on the road N 17 about 50 km south of the district capital of Lutsk and about 90 Km north of Lviv.

History

Horochiw was founded in 1450. In 1601 she received the Magdeburg rights. In 1928 the town was connected by the construction of an extension line to the present railway line Lviv - Kiwerzi to the railway, the train station is located about 8 kilometers south-east of the town center.
