Horschbach

Horschbach is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Altenglan.

Geography

The town lies on Herrmannsberg in the Western Palatinate. Through the town flows the same Horschbach. To the north is Glanbrücken, in the east and southwest lies Hinzweiler Elzweiler.

History

Horschbach was first documented in 1190. To 1595 the place came to Palatinate -Zweibrücken. 1799-1853 formed Horschbach with the neighboring Elzweiler a common community.

Parish council

The local council in Horschbach consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Mayor

In the election for mayor in 2004 there was no candidate, so was Michael Herrmann by the municipal council elected. In 2009 he was re-elected in the municipal election with 78 % of votes cast.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " Sable, a rotgekrönter and reinforced golden lion, covered by a silver diagonally left wave beams ".

It was awarded in 1975 by the District Government Neustadt. The lion is from the coat of arms of Pfalz- Zweibrücken. The wave bar symbolizes the ending of the name.

Economy and infrastructure

In the southwest is the A 62 in Altenglan is a station on the railway line Landstuhl - Kusel.
