- Planks are wider and more striking than rods and can irritate horses if they do not know as planks jumps. On the other hand, they act as solid rods, so that the horses more caution in jumping show and the risk is lower than with rods that negligent front legs lead to shedding. For security planks are usually on extremely short run, so that again the slightest touch leads to shedding.
- A wall composed of non-transparent wall parts, which can be varied depending on the structure of the height. A wall is opaque, so the horse can not see what is directly behind the wall. Horses with a lack of confidence in the rider therefore refuse wall jumps rather than other obstructions. Skips the horse the wall, is very rarely broken because the bulky optics leads to a lot of care with the horses.
