Horst H. Baumann

Horst H. Baumann ( born June 19, 1934 in Aachen ) is a German artist, designer and photographer who lives and works in Dusseldorf and is especially known for its laser art.

Life

Baumann studied 1954-1957 Metallurgy ( 1972-1974 and pedagogy) at the RWTH Aachen and as a late student from 1994 to 2004 Philosophy / media at the Heinrich -Heine- University of Dusseldorf.

Since 1957 he works as a photographer and designer and since 1966 as a lighting artist. Horst H. Baumann was 1963-1964 Guest lecturer at the Ulm School of Design.

In 1977, Baumann Participants at the documenta 6 in Kassel and installed there, assisted by Peter Hertha, with its Laserscape Kassel 's first permanent laser sculpture ( 1979 ) worldwide.

Other installations of Baumann are the lighting levels on the Rhine Tower in Dusseldorf (1982 ), the neon sculpture " Cross Pass " in Bielefeld- Senne City (1988) and the redesigned the lighting level Olympic bar on the Rhine tower Dusseldorf 2003.

1956, 1958 and 1960 Horst H. Baumann was represented at the photokina in Cologne and there also winners.

His work has been exhibited internationally, including 1965 in the Gallery of Modern Art in New York and in 1967 and 1969 at the Biennale des Jeunes in Paris (winner ).
