Horst Siegl

Horst Siegl (* February 15, 1969 in Ostrov nad Ohri ) is a former Czech football player.

Playing career

He received his football education since 1978 at Slavia Karlovy Vary. In 1987, he joined the Czechoslovak first division club Sparta Prague. Siegl was eleven times between 1988 and 1990 Czechoslovak youth team player, scoring four goals. After he had graduated between 1989 and 1990 at RH Cheb his military service, he returned to Sparta back in 1990.

Siegl in 1995 went to Germany to relegation-threatened 1.FC Kaiserslautern and returned after 13 league games without a hit, winning the DFB Cup and the relegation of the club in the second division after the season back to Prague. In 2001 he left Sparta and moved to FK Marila Pribram. Since 2004 he played for Viktoria Plzeň. Siegl since the 2004/ 05 season in the squad of FK Siad Most. In 2006 he finished his professional career and has since become an assistant coach at Sparta Prague. If time permits, he played for the fourth division Marila Votice. In early 2009 he moved to FK Chmel Blšany.

The striker scored in his 409 games in the first Czech / Czechoslovak league 175 goals. In 61 cup matches he scored 13 goals. Between 1991 and 1998 graduated Siegl 23 games for the national football teams of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic in 1993, where he met seven times into the opposing goal. Siegl, with its in 285 games scored 124 hits since 1993 Top scorer of the Gambrinus Liga.

Futsal

After end of his career in professional football Siegl plays at irregular intervals Futsal for the Czech first division club FC Benago Zruč nad Sázavou.

Coaching career

Siegl began his coaching career while still a playing career as an assistant to Zdeněk Ščasný at FK SIAD Most in the season 2005/06. From 2006 to the end of 2008 was the former striker assistant coach at Sparta Prague.
