Horstedt, Schleswig-Holstein

Horstedt (Danish: Horsted, Frisian: Hoorst ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

Horstedt runs on the transition between March and Geest directly north of Husum on the highway 5, which functions as a bypass around Husum and then further north to Niebüll.

Municipal council

Of the nine seats in the municipal council the voter communities AWGH and NWH had since the local elections 2008 per four seats, the SSW had one. In the local elections on May 26, 2013, the NWH received 51.4 percent of the vote and six seats. The AWGH came to 48.6 percent and five seats. The turnout was 64.1 percent.

Mayoress

Since 2003, Karen Hansen ( NWH ) is mayor. For the election period 2013-2018 she was re-elected.

Economy

The community is predominantly agricultural.
