Hoshino Gakki

Hoshino Gakki K. K. (Japanese星野 楽 器 株式会社, Hoshino Gakki Kabushiki - gaisha ) is a Japanese musical instrument manufacturer. Brands for Ibanez guitars and Tama drums are known for.

History

Hoshino was founded in 1908 by Matsujiro Hoshino as a bookstore with sheet music sales. Gradually, musical instruments to Japan were imported. From 1929 guitars were imported from the workshop of Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez to Japan. The end of 1933 Telesforo Julve bought the company and produced guitars under the name "Salvador Ibáñez é Hijos ".

From 1935 Hoshino began itself to manufacture stringed instruments in Nagoya under the name Salvador Ibanez. The brand name was later shortened to Ibanez. Opened in 1962, Junpei Hoshino, the grandson of the founder, the work of Tama Seisakusho for Electric Guitars ( replicas of well-known brands ), amplifiers and drums to produce. From 1966 drums were manufactured here just yet. The guitar production was awarded to contractors as Fujigen.
