Hosidius Geta

Hosidius Geta was a Roman poet who was active around the year 200 AD. According to the testimony of his contemporary Tertullian ( De Prescriptione Haereticorum 42), he wrote a tragedy entitled Medea, which consisted of cents Onen of Virgil. This means that the text is composed almost exclusively of Virgil quotes ( verses and Versteile ).

In addition to other Codex Salmasianus Virgil cents Onen also a Medea survives in 461 verses, which is identical to the research with the above-mentioned work by view. The Cento technique is masterful, the text contains numerous violations of the rules of metric prosody and syntax.
