Hostage of Time

Hostage of Time is a documentary from Lebanon in 1994, ( 50min ), produced by Jean K. Chamoun

Israel attacked the early 80s in the civil war in Lebanon, and marched in 1982 in Beirut. After heavy losses and international pressure, Israel withdrew first partially, and only in 2000 also from South Lebanon back.

The film follows a young doctor who is swept back from the USA to Lebanon. Your village has been destroyed along with 50 other villages after Israeli air strikes. Here, about 500,000 people had been displaced.

Through her work with the women and children in the surrounding villages, insights can be gained into the lives, hopes and dreams of people in southern Lebanon and their attempts to build a new life.
