Hot Butter

Hot Butter was a famous by instrumental pieces cover band of the U.S. keyboard player Stan Free ( * 1922, † 1995). The other band members were Dave Mullaney, John Abbott, Bill Jerome, Steve Jerome, and Danny Jordan. This project played Free instrumentals and put the electronically generated sounds of the synthesizer in the foreground.

Publications

They had their biggest hit in 1972 with the piece of popcorn by Gershon Kingsley, which came in various versions in the charts. Their version reached # 1 on the German and Swiss charts. Subsequently published Stan Free synth versions of several well-known instrumental hits such as Apache or tequila, but which he was unable to repeat the success of popcorn. Under his real name he published mainly in the jazz field.
