Hot plate

The heating plate is an important laboratory equipment, especially in the chemistry and biology.

They are used to heat a variety of vessels, such as Baths, Erlenmeyer flasks or beakers. There are simple hot plates, similar to a hot plate and which with additional magnetic stirrer. Only the latter allows the use of a magnetic stir bar (also called a magnetic stir bar or fish ).

In microelectronics and microsystems technology heating plates are used for baking of photoresist layers on wafers.
