Hotan

The city of Hotan (和田 市; Pinyin: Hetian Shì; Uighur خوتەن; earlier Khotan ) is a county-level city of the district of Hotan in southern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the northwest of the People 's Republic of China. It has an area of ​​155.04 km ² and has 270,000 inhabitants ( 2004).

History

The German pilot Carl August von Gablenz emergency landing when he with Lufthansa Junkers Ju - 52 D- ANOY the airway in the Far East explored in August 1937 in Khotan.
