The drama series Hotel was broadcast from 1983 to 1988 on ABC. Scene of the series was the fictional St. Gregory Hotel in San Francisco. Exterior views of St. Gregory are from the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, in which the pilot was filmed, before you switch during the filming of the actual series for indoor shots on studio sets.

The actions of the episodes were generally self-contained and dealt with the fate of the hotel guests, and partly also the hotel staff.

Hotel was produced by Aaron Spelling Productions. In the pilot movie Bette Davis appeared as a hotel owner on, but she could not due to illness continue her role in the series, so it was replaced by Anne Baxter in the role of Victoria Cabot. Baxter played in 1950 in the film All About Eve Davis ' antagonist.

The series is based on the novel by Arthur Hailey Hotel, which was filmed in 1967, and gave many guest stars the opportunity to gigs.
