Hounslow Central tube station

Hounslow Central is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Hounslow. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 4 at the Lampton Road. In the year 2011 there were 3.9 million passengers these from the Piccadilly Line station.

Already on 21 July 1884, the Metropolitan District Railway (MDR; predecessor company on the District line ) had the route towards Hounslow Barracks (now Hounslow West) opened. The station Heston Hounslow followed, however, until April 1, 1886 until then the trains here without stopping by. The electrification of the line was completed on 13 June 1905. On December 19, 1912 was the inauguration of a new station building and on 1 December 1925, the station was given its present name. Trains on the Piccadilly Line held for the first time on 13 March 1933. Since October 9, 1964, she is the only line on the west of Acton Town section because the District line was shortened.

In and around the station a few scenes in the film Bend It Like Beckham were filmed in 2002.
