House of Ingelger

The First House of Anjou ( France also called Ingelgeriens ) is the first dynasty in Anjou. It originates from Ingelger, † 886, Viscount of Angers, whose son Fulk I the Red swung himself to the Count. Through inheritance, the family came into the possession of the county of Vendôme.

Already the 6th generation, with Count Geoffrey II, the family died out in the male line in 1060. Was succeeded by the First House of Anjou Ferréol Geoffroy, Count of Gâtinais and progenitor of the House Château- Landon, in turn, emerged from the Plantagenet.
