Household goods

As a household refers to items that the household

Additional facilities include (furniture, carpets, pictures, window decorations )
Are needed (dishes, clothes, household appliances )
Are consumed (eg, food and beverages).

This includes cash and valuables such as jewelery, precious stones and antiques.

Legal significance attained the household, especially in the case of divorce or of this preliminary separation of the spouses: the common living serving objects must close accordance with the household Regulation shall be divided between the spouses ( household division of labor), while the ownership of the remaining assets to the general rules followed.

Upon the death of the spouse the survivor in the German inheritance law standing next to a share in the inheritance advance belonging to the marital household items to ( also the wedding gifts ), both together is referred to as advance; see § 1932 BGB. No household items are the personal use of the testator serving items ( eg clothing, jewelery ).
