Hovden, Aust-Agder

Hovden is the name of a village with 416 inhabitants ( 2011) in the Norwegian municipality in Bykle Fylke Aust -Agder. The village is located in the upper Setesdalen, at the mouth of the river Otra into the lake Hartevatnet. Due to the location of the national route No. 9 results ( Riksvei 9).

The place is known as the center of a large alpine and Nordic ski tourism; with about 150 kilometers of trails, the area is the largest ski area in southern Norway, and at Hovden Aqualand & Spa the water temperature is at a constant 30 degrees.
