Hoved Island

Hoved Iceland is an uninhabited island of the Queen Elizabeth Islands in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut. The island is located in the Baumann Fiord between the two peninsulas Svendsen Peninsula and Bjorne Peninsula of Ellesmere Iceland. It is 158 km ².

Hoved Iceland was first charted and named by the second Norwegian expedition of the Fram (1898-1902) under Captain Otto Sverdrup. The Norwegian " Hovedøen " means something like " main island ".
