How Deep Is Your Love is a pop and R & B ballad of the Bee Gees. The piece was in September 1977 as a single from the soundtrack to the film Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track published. It reached on December 24, 1977 # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100

At the Grammy Awards 1978, the Bee Gees received the award for " Best Pop Performance by a Group" for the song. In addition, the piece in 1978 for a Golden Globe Award nominee.

It was set by the music magazine Rolling Stone ranked 375 of the 500 best songs of all time.

In addition to many other versions there is a particularly successful version of Take That, which in many countries has become a number -one hit in 1996.

The original version of the Bee Gees

The love ballad How Deep Is Your Love was written by the Gibb brothers and in the spring of 1977 recorded in Château d' Hérouville, Hérouville, France with producer Albhy Galuten and Karl Richardson, though initially only a demo recording, the actual recordings were then in the Criteria Studios in Miami instead. Barry Gibb worked out the keyboard melody with keyboardist Blue Weaver, who is not specified, however in the credits.

Music Video

There are two different music videos to the piece. In the first version, you can see the Brothers Gibb singing, the image of a woman is seen. Barry Gibb has in this version no beard, but in the second version, in which the singing brothers are seen in beams of rainbow-colored lights.

The version of Take That

In 1996, the British boy band Take That released a cover version that was extracted from their album Greatest Hits, and in many countries achieved a great success. So the piece was a number -one hit in the UK. It reached platinum status there too. In Germany, this version reached # 7 in the charts.

Music Video

The music video with actress and model Paula Hamilton showing in the lead role, as a blonde woman held captive in the basement of the first band members, it then loads into a van and driving off with them. On a slope, where the musicians sit, the actress finally comes smiling Gary Barlow down.
