Howard Arman

Howard Arman (born 1954 in London) is a European choral conductor and opera conductor.

Life

Howard Arman studied at Trinity College of Music. Initially, he worked with leading ensembles of Great Britain, but since 1981 lived in Austria or Germany. He has conducted, among others, the radio choruses of the NDR, SWR, ORF and the RIAS Chamber Choir. From 1983 to 2000, he led the Salzburg Bach Choir and from 1991 to 1996, the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music.

Since 1998, Arman conductor and artistic director of the MDR Radio Choir.

Howard Arman is General Music Director of Theater & Philharmonie Thüringen for the season 2010 /2011. The Lucerne Theater Arman has ordered from the season 2011/2012 for three years as music director, in this capacity, he conducts the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.

By 2012, Arman led the amateur choir of Leipzig International School.
