Howard Buffett

Howard Homan Buffett ( born August 13, 1903 in Omaha, Nebraska, † April 30, 1964 ) was an American businessman and politician. The investor Warren Buffett is his son.

Buffett studied at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where he was co-editor of the Daily Nebraskan. There he also met his future wife, Leila steel, with whom he had three children. He finished his studies in 1925. In 1931 he founded the brokerage company buffet Falk & Company.

In 1942 he was elected as a Republican to Congress and represented the state of Nebraska there from 3 January 1943 to January 3, 1949 the House of Representatives of the United States. In the 1948 elections he failed to defend his seat in the House of Representatives: He defeated the Democrat Eugene Daniel O'Sullivan. O'Sullivan again lost his seat at the next election in 1950 and was re Buffett January 3, 1951 to January 3, 1953 to the congressman. In 1952, he no longer appeared to be the choice.

Buffett devoted himself back to his previous professional activities. He died in 1964 in Omaha, and was interred in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
