Howard Burnett (athlete)

Howard Burnett ( Howard McNeal Burnett, born March 8, 1961) is a retired Jamaican sprinter who specialized in the 400 -meter run.

At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 he was employed in the flow of the 4 x 400 - meter relay. The Jamaican team finally won silver.

In 1989 he won the IAAF World Cup in Barcelona with the American 4 x 400 -meter relay.

The following year he won at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland with the Jamaican relay and bronze in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Mexico City bronze in the 400m.

In 1991 he finished fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Seville. At the Pan American Games in Havana, he was sixth in the individual event and won bronze with the Jamaican relay. The IAAF World Championships in Tokyo, he was employed in the flow of the 4 x 400 - meter relay and thus contributed to winning the bronze medal for the Jamaican team.
