Howard Carter (Pentecostal pioneer)

Alfred Howard Carter ( born January 3, 1891 in Birmingham, England; † January 22, 1971 in Springfield ( Missouri)), also known as Howard Carter, was a pioneer of American Pentecostalism.

The Crown Mission

Carter was born in Birmingham. He was the founder of the first Pentecostal Bible school coined in England. In 1913, a missionary society took the name Crown her mission work in the city, whose head was Carter short time later. From the year 1916, Carter committed in another Pentecostal church, so that he gave up his job to devote himself exclusively to the management of the two churches.

Imprisonment

Retirement

Carter left the Hampstead Bible School in 1948 and moved to the United States, where he eventually Ruth ( Fisher) Steel Mountain married. She was the daughter of Elmer Kirk Fisher, founder of the Upper Room Mission in Los Angeles. She was previously married to Wesley Rowland Steel Berg, who served as superintendent of the Assemblies of God USA and died in 1952 during a trip to Wales. Carter spent the rest of his life in the United States. Until his death in Springfield in 1971, Carter made ​​numerous trips as a preacher.
