Howard Jones (musician)

John Howard Jones ( born February 23, 1955 in Southampton, England ) is a British musician.

Life

Howard Jones is the oldest of four children of a Welsh family. From the age of seven he began playing the piano. Later he enrolled at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester for the study of classical piano's. In order to pay his tuition, he earned with night shifts at the radio station Radio Picadilly money. He played every 20 minutes between midnight and six clock in the morning a piece of music of their choice on the synthesizer. After he had stopped his studies at the Music College, Jones founded with his future wife Ian Smith a small mobile vegetable trade in High Wycombe.
