Howard Levy

Howard Levy ( born July 31, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York City ) is an American harmonica player and pianist. He set standards for chromatic playing on the diatonic harmonica by Überblastechnik.

Levy was a member of the first cast of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones and coined the sound of this band on the first three shots of 1990-1992 decisively until he then left the band to publish more of its own material within a new framework and more time for his have family to. It subsequently emerged albums in collaboration with various artists such as Mark Nauseef. With Eugene Friesen and Glen Velez, he formed the Trio Globo, with which he presented several albums. Levy was also active as a guest musician, his work on albums by Rabih Abou -Khalil took special attention. For the 2011 released studio album " Rocket Science", the Flecktones were back together in the original cast.
