Hristo Marinov

Christo Marinov, Bulgarian Христо Маринов, ( born March 14, 1987 in Stara Zagora ) is a Bulgarian wrestler. He was 2010 World middleweight champion of the Greco -Roman style.

Career

Christo Marinov began as a teenager in 2000 with the rings. He focuses on the Greco-Roman style and is one of the Rincerclub Lovech on. He is 1.78 meters tall and fights in the middleweight division, the weight category to 84 kg body weight. Since he is a member of the Bulgarian national team of wrestlers, he is trained by Bratan Zenow and managed by Stefan Mitow. Already in the junior age he was employed by the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation in many international championships. The best result he achieved it, was the second place at the European Junior Championships (Age Group Cadets ) in 2004 in Albena welterweight. On good results he has seen at junior level two fifth places at the Junior European Championships in 2006 in Szombathely and at the Junior World Championship 2006 in Guatemala City, in each case in the middleweight division.

In the senior, he took the first time in 2006 participated in an international championship. He was defeated here at the European Championships in Moscow in the first round against Bernhard Mayr from Germany and came on the 15th Place. Even in the years 2007 to 2009, he could not place it in the front of the field at the international championships. He did not make it, to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Despite this rather mediocre results of the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation held at Christo Marinov. A first success then showed up at the 2010 European Championships in Baku, where he finished in the middleweight division with a defeat against Lennie Persson from Sweden and a win over Yuri Malai from Moldova the 11th Place. A veritable explosion in performance then succeeded him at the World Cup 2010 in Moscow. He defeated there middleweight Artur Omarov, Czech Republic, Amer Hrustanovic, Austria, the Olympic champion in 2004 and four -time World Champion Alexei Mishin from Russia, Damian Jankowski from Poland and fight for victory and the Cuban Pablo Shorey Hernandez and thus was sensatinall new world champion at middleweight.

In the following years took turns with him from success and failure. He won the European Championship 2011 in Dortmund after beating Attila Tamas, Romania and Zoltan Fodor, Hungary, a defeat against Wasil Rachyba, Ukraine and wins over Artur Omarov, Czech Republic and Damian Janikowski, Poland, a bronze medal. At the World Championships this year in Istanbul, he had already lost in the first round against Lee Se - yeol from South Korea and thus landed on the 29th place.

In 2012, he was then in Belgrade middleweight champions before Damian Janikowski, Shan Belenjuk from Ukraine and Viktor Lörincz from Hungary. At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 he again lost his first fight and indeed against Danijal Gadschijew from Kazakhstan. Since this does not reach the final, he was eliminated and only came on the 18th Place.

Christo Marinov is also well known in Germany Ringer circles, because he wrestled from 2008 to 2010 for the KSV ketch, in the season 2010/ 2011 for the AC Lichtenfels and will go into the 2012/13 season for the KSV Aalen at the start.
