Hrob

Hrob ( German monastery grave ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It lies on the southern slopes of the Ore Mountains at the foot of Bouřňák and belongs to the Okres Teplice. Below the town, there are two artificial lakes formed after the extraction of lignite.

History

Was mentioned for the first time the city on May 6, 1282nd beginning of the 14th century was mined nearby silver, it was a typical mining town. 1458 Monastery grave was granted the right to perform a weekly market. 1594 market towns of Emperor Rudolf II was appointed to the mountain town. From the second half of the 16th century was discovered in the vicinity of the town of lignite and began with their use.

1580 the Pope confirmed the dissolution of the monastery of Dux and convent grave got new owners. At this time, the inhabitants also adopted the ideas of Martin Luther. 1609 then a Protestant church was built, which had to be demolished in 1617, however. This demolition took place in Bohemia of high agitation that ultimately the Defenestration of Prague, the causes of the Thirty Years' War led. It was not until 300 years later, a Protestant church was built in the place again. The city itself counted from the beginning of the industrial places.
