Hrvoje Horvat

Hrvoje Horvat (Serbian Хрвоје Хорват; May 22nd, 1946 in Bjelovar, SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian handball coach and former handball player who has been used primarily on the position of the rear space center.

Horvat started playing handball with 13 years at ORK Partizan Bjelovar, where he spent most of his career and won several championship titles. In 1972, the playmaker won the European Champions Cup. In the season 1975/1976 he scored 12.2 goals per game. In 1979 he moved to TSV Milbertshofen in the Handball - Bundesliga, where he in 1983 after three years at the MTSV Schwabing ended his playing career.

With the Yugoslav national team of the 231 - times capped player Yugoslav won at the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 the gold medal in 1976 in Montreal, he was fifth. At the World Championships in 1970 and 1974, he took a bronze each.

As Handball He also coached several German clubs from the Regional to the Bundesliga. So he led the HSC 2000 Coburg in the second Bundesliga and the TV 08 Willstaett in the 1st Bundesliga.

Hrvoje Horvat is married with Dunja and has two daughters.
