The HSBC Arena is a multi-purpose hall and stands in the Barra da Tijuca district of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With the Parque AquatiCo Maria Lenk and the Velódromo da Barra, it is in the circuit Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet the Complexo Esportivo de Autódromo.

It was built for the 15th Pan American Games in 2007 ( July 13 to 29 ) and there were basketball and gymnastics instead. From 13 to 16 September 2007, the World Judo Championships were held.

In the Summer Olympic Games in 2016, the arena for artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics is provided. After that, the wheelchair basketball competitions of the Paralympic Summer Games 2016 will be held in the arena.

In addition to sporting events, the hall is also used for concerts. Among the guests were here, for example, Andrea Bocelli, Alanis Morissette, Bob Dylan, Korn, Lily Allen, Ozzy Osbourne, Roberto Carlos, Rod Stewart, Scorpions, Seal, The Offspring, Queen Paul Rodgers

Since March 29, 2008, the event hall is named HSBC Arena, after the world's biggest banking group HSBC.
