Career

Hsieh, who has six siblings, was brought up in the age of five by her father, who trained for many years to the sport of tennis. My favorite surface is hard court.

She had a very successful entry on the professional tour and was regarded in Asia as the great new hope. Your first five titles she won ITF tournaments. Immediately on her debut on the WTA Tour in Bali they came as qualifier to the semifinals and reached a little later in Pattaya the quarterfinals. Your balance in 2001: 37 wins and just two defeats. This rate, however, she could not hold in the following years.

2005 Hsieh won four more titles on the ITF Women's Circuit, in 2006 even the gold medal in women's singles at the Asian Games in Doha. However, their greatest achievements came in doubles: 2004, she stood at the WTA tournament in Seoul in the final, also in 2007 in Auckland and Bangalore.

End of 2007, Hsieh won the Asian Hopman Cup, thus securing the ticket for the Hopman Cup in Perth, the unofficial Mixed World Cup.

Her best performance at a Grand Slam tournament she had at the 2008 Australian Open, when she came into the knockout stages and there defeated the world number one Justine Henin. In 2009, she failed in Melbourne already in round one.

Your seventh WTA title she could celebrate in October 2009 on the side of Peng Shuai, with whom she has now won eleven tournaments. The eighth title ( in Guangzhou) was then nearly two years away.

After over ten years on the tour she also managed the first victory in singles. In April 2012 she won the WTA tournament in Kuala Lumpur, they benefited from the abandonment of their playoff opponent Petra Martić. At Wimbledon she was the first to move into the third round, but lost the world number one Maria Sharapova with 1:6, 4:6 beaten. At the U.S. Open she reached the side of Anabel Medina Garrigues reached the semifinals, there were subject to the two mating Lucie Hradecká / Andrea Hlaváčková in two sets. In Guangzhou, followed in 2012 then equal nor her second WTA singles title when she could beat Laura Robson in the final in a close match.

But they eventually celebrated her biggest success in 2013 at Wimbledon, when she moved with her (since 2009 fixed ) doubles partner Peng Shuai finals and Ashleigh Barty there and Casey Dellacqua defeated. Hsieh Su -wei thus won the first Grand Slam title for Taiwan. After this success, she received several offers from sponsors, but all of the adoption of Chinese nationality have had the condition.
