Hsipaw

Hsipaw ( သီပေါ; Shan: သီႇ ပေႃႉ, also known as Thibaw ), is a small town in Shan State, Myanmar on the banks of Duthawadi. It is located about 200 km northeast of Mandalay on the railway line Mandalay - Lashio.

Attractions

• Shan Palace: Here lived in the 1960s, the Shan prince Sao Kya Seng with his Austrian wife, whom he had met in the United States. The prince was probably murdered by the military dictatorship.
