Hsu Li-Kong

Hsu Li Kong (Chinese徐立功, Pinyin Xu Gong Li; * December 27, 1943 ) is a Taiwanese film producer, film director, screenwriter and current President of the Zoom Hunt International Productions Co. Ltd..

Life

Hsu Li- Kong from 1963 to 1967 studied at the Catholic Fu -Jen University, and graduated with a master's degree in philosophy. He then worked for the Taiwan radio station, before joining the Government Information Office. He was then in 1979 director of the National Film Archives, from where he reformed the Golden Horse Film Festival from 1980. So he divided the Film Festival in a purely Chinese and international in a division. After about 10 years, he left the film archive and changed as a producer for the Central Motion Picture Corporation, where he promoted Movies Taiwanese directors such as Ang Lee and Tsai Ming -liang. In 1997 he left the company, however, again in order to start his own production company Zoom Hunt International Productions can.

After Hsu Li- Kong already produced Ang Lee's films donating hands, The Wedding Banquet and Eat Drink Man Woman, it was Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, for which he was not nominated nominations for Best Film at the Independent Spirit Awards and Oscars, but even for Best Foreign Foreign Language Film at the BAFTA film Awards.

His brother is the former Executive Yuan Hsu Lide (Chinese徐立德).
