Hua Mei (giant panda)

Hua Mei (Chinese华美(Traditional), Chinese华美(simplified ) translation: " China / USA"; born August 21, 1999) is a female Giant Panda. She arrived at the San Diego Zoo by artificial insemination to the world and is considered the first panda bear offspring who reached adulthood in the United States. Both the birth and the first months of life could be traced through an Internet Cam of San Diego zoos worldwide. On 25 August 1999 nurses estimated their weight at 110-140 grams.
