Santisima Trinidad de Huancayo, Huancayo short, is a city in the South American country Peru, capital of the Junín Region, situated approximately 250 km east of Lima in the Andes ( 3259 m). The agglomeration has nearly 400,000 inhabitants.

Economy

Huancayo acts as a trading center for agricultural products, especially for artichokes and wheat. The trout aquaculture is becoming a mainstay. For supermarket chains as well as regionally active cultural and educational institutions is the main city of Huancayo central Peru (apart from the agglomeration of Lima and Callao ) is, and is often the destination of expansion projects.

Railway
