Huangpu District, Guangzhou

The city Huangpu District (Chinese黄埔 区/黄埔 区, pinyin Huángpǔ Qū, formerly with Whampoa transcribed ) is a municipality in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. He belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Guangzhou (Canton).

Founded in 1924, The Whampoa Military Academy of the Kuomintang is named after the neighborhood.
