Hubble Extreme Deep Field

The Hubble Extreme Deep Field ( XDF ) is an image of a small southern region of the sky, which was created by images from the Hubble Space Telescope of a portion from the center of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field ( HUDF ) were assembled over a period of ten years. It includes recordings from a total of 50 days and a total exposure time of two million seconds ( about 23 days). The picture was taken from 2000 individual exposures, taken by Hubble's " Advanced Camera for Surveys ' (ACS ) and the " Wide Field Camera 3 ". It was released on September 25, 2012, and solved the HUDF as previously deepest image of the universe ever taken in visible light from. The XDF contains about 5,500 galaxies with slightly more than half of the number of galaxies in the HUDF, with a much smaller area. The light travel time of a few on the image to be seen galaxies to the earth is 13.2 billion years recent shown in the image are galaxies seen in a stage only 450 million years after the Big Bang.

The Hubble Deep Field Extreme is in the tradition of the Hubble Deep Field, the Hubble Deep Field South and the Hubble Ultra Deep Field.
