Hubcap
A hubcap or wheel cover is a cover of the rim, which is now mostly made of plastic. It serves the optic of the wheels, the protection of the hub and the wheel nuts from dirt or even to reduce the air resistance. It is fixed with screws or barbs on the rim. Wheel covers made of nylon are unbreakable and therefore more durable than hubcaps made of ABS plastic.
Special events around the hubcap
Since 2007, the Radkappenweitwurf World Cup will be held in Meppen (Emsland) annually. Here it is a commercial hub cap to throw as far as possible. In mixed teams of three people come annually to 150 athletes to fight for the world title.
